Beach Operations

Lifeguarding Services Australia operates professional ocean lifeguards for private organisations, special events and local councils. Currently LSA has long term contracts in place at both the Eurobodalla Shire Council and at Balmoral Beach in Sydney. Primarily operating over the summer months, Lifeguarding Services Australia provides these employed lifeguards to perform rescue and first aid services to the community and assist government agencies, NGO’s and volunteer organisations in responding to local emergencies.

Our Professional Ocean Lifeguard’s skills and duties include:
• choosing suitable swimming locations
• providing advice and regulatory beach signage
• performing rescues and providing first aid
• advising on breaches of local Council law
• preparing and delivering surf education to schools and residents
• liaising with other rescue and emergency organisations
• providing beach and water surveillance

Our Lifeguards are experienced in the use of:
• rescue boards and tubes
• personal water rescue craft (jet ski)
• four-wheel drives and quad bikes
• two-way communication
• advanced life support equipment (including defibrillators & Oxygen)
• spinal stabilisation equipment

Our lifeguard service operates 6 four wheel drive vehicles, 2 jet skis and 2 quad bikes. Combined with our Pool Lifeguards and Sport & Recreation Attendants Lifeguarding Services has over 30 permanent lifeguards and 300 casual staff, making us one of the largest lifeguard providers in Australia.
